N.C.TIMES/COLUMNIST

NORTH COUNTY TIMES NEWSPAPER, North County San Diego (Vista, San Marcos, Oceanside, Fallbrook, Camp Pendleton, Carlsbad & Escondido) with a readership of about 260,000. WEEKLY COLUMN, Business Section, "Looking To Improve", 2004. Each week I answered questions from readers regarding improvements on their homes. After almost twenty years in the construction industry doing everything from installation to writing about it (at McGraw-Hill/Dodge), I was in a unique position to answer homeowners' questions about hiring contractors to work on their homes (from verifying licensing to liens, permits and even fund control). The column lasted from May, 2004 to October of that same year. The publication decided to move it from the Business Section to the Home Page (thinking it would be a logical move). And the questions subsequently ended.
